Bespoke Conservatory

The shading solution for this bespoke conservatory was designed-in for ultimate performance and appearance. The result is a system that reduces heat gain and controls glare yet its rollers, motors and hardware are concealed.

When designing this bespoke conservatory in London, ACE Contracts turned to SHY for a solution that could be designed-in for ultimate performance and appearance. The resulting system blends into its surroundings whilst reducing heat gain and controlling glare.

Blinds are often the last thing considered when planning conservatories. However, when ACE Contracts were asked to provide roof blinds for a bespoke conservatory, they turned to SHY® (UK) for some help as they wanted the mechanisms, rollers and motors to be fully concealed and its hardware powder-coated to match the colour of the conservatory's frame.

Neat headboxes to conceal the roller are built into the design of SHY® (UK) roofblinds and clever ZIP®
slimline channels support and guide the fabric as it travels across the glazing. And the motors for the motorised, remote controlled blinds are even fully concealed in the roller barrel too.

A high performance and extremely robust screen fabric was used in these blinds to reduce heat gain and control glare. All the aluminium hardware in this installation was powder coated to match the frame colour of the conservatory.

Conservatories are typically a much smaller application of roofblind technology from SHY® (UK) but with 6 headbox sizes, 9 roller barrel diameters, 6 operating methods and the ability to manage sizes up to 70m2, most shapes and sizes are possible.
