The Olympic Aquatic Centre, London

SHY's dealer, Soltech Systems, was asked to solve the challenge of providing blinds to add privacy along a curved glass partition between the main pool and training pool.

The Aquatic Centre has a training pool separated from the main pool area by full height glazing positioned on a gentle curve. Soltech Systems knew that the solution was the SHY Zip system.

In total 10 blinds 2.9m x 3.9m drop were installed fitted with a bespoke shaped headbox to complement the roof detailing. This headbox, and the hem bar of the blinds, were anodised to a specific colour to complement the ceiling detail. SHY's Solarblock blackout fabric was used as it is a very robust, water resistant material.

Black Zip side channels ensured the fabric was always securely held in the side channels to maintain total privacy.

The blinds were operated by a gearbox located on one side of each headbox and operated by a detachable handle to prevent unauthorised use of the blinds.
