With sloping glazing, the largest of which was 3.5m wide and up to 7.5m drop SHY proposed their Obscura fabric tension system (FTS).
The FTS cleverly adjusts the tension in the fabric during its travel, and when the blind is stopped or fully deployed the motors gently turn in opposite directions to remove any sag.
Tensioned Obscura blinds of this size need a very strong and structurally stable fabric and SHY’s S150 fibreglass screen fabric, in white, with a 5% openness and a light transmittance (Tv) of just 15% was specified at this site.
