Custom Group turned to SHY when this site in Nottingham needed to shade the top 9m of curtain walling to reduce glare and heat gain.
SHY® used their custom designed 160mm diameter barrel which ensured that even given the overall blind size the deflection in the tube across the width was imperceptible.
In total, just four Obscura roller blinds were used to cover a total area of some 125 square metres with the blinds neatly aligned with the vertical structural steelwork.
On this job SHY’s Solarscene SS200M screen fabric was specified. This is a very stable glass fibre reinforced material suitable for large gravity drop rollers and also tensioned blinds.
A metallised backing provided a Tv of 5% and Rs of 75% giving a perfect combination of light, glare and heat gain control for the many hundreds of staff in open plan offices around this extensive curtain walling.
